It's because of people like him and SRV that make me depressed about my playing level. After 20 years, I'm no where close to them!
Killing Floor by Hendrix. Hendrix was in London for a few weeks and went to a club where Cream was playing. They invited him backstage then offer him the chance to play on stage with them....big mistake!!!
Hendrix comes out and tells them lets play Killing Floor.
Clapton liked the song and thought it was to difficult to play it fast.....
There they were, Cream: Jack Bruce on Bass, Ginger Baker on drums, Clapton on guitar along with Hendrix on guitar.
Jimi plugs his strat into Jack Bruce's Bass amp and let it go................behind the back, between the legs, with his teeth, feed back, dive bombs......you name it.
It completely caught these 3 Brits off guard....Clapton stopped playing and walked off behind the stage. All poor Clapton could do was light a cigarette and ask his manager....is he really that good???!!!
I would have loved to have been in the audience in London when he was jamming (and showing off his skill) with Cream that eventful night!!!
In this video Jimi is pretty mellow and doesn't show off.
