Finally received my MCX pistol barrel from Sig, and the darn flash hider won't come off. Have read rumors of them using Rockset, so I tried soaking it in hot water for ~5 hours. No luck, but the tip of the flash hider did start to rust, so not all was lost. :rolleyes2

Anyone in the Edmond area have a reaction rod/heat gun? I'm not sure what else to try...

Heat resistance is the benefit of Rocksett over normal Loctite....so you'd have to get ALOT of heat to it and even then that doesnt seem to be the solution. Everything I've read says to soak it longer (24hrs) or use more torque.

That's part of the problem, I don't have the tools or barrel vise to be able to put a lot of torque on it. Was thinking a reaction rod or BEV block may do the trick if someone has one or both.
