His four-footed path to heroism began at the day's beginning and ended with three bullet wounds, according to police.</em></p><p><em></em></p><p><em>"Sometime around midnight, police received several calls of shots fired in the 300 block of Southwest J Avenue," LaRoche said.</em></p><p><em></em></p><p><em>LPD Captain Craig Akard said that three men forced their way inside a house, where a couple and several children were. He said the men threatened violence to everyone in the house.</em></p><p><em></em></p><p><em>Akard said one of the men, armed with a handgun, went for the woman.</em></p><p><em></em></p><p><em>"One ran straight to her and pointed the gun at her and demanded money," he said. "They were able to get some property from the home a small amount of money."</em></p><p><em></em></p><p><em>LaRoche said that a relative stopped by the home and startled the robbers, who fled out the back door of the house with two pursuing pit bulls charging behind. Several gunshots from an unknown caliber weapon were fired toward the canines. Three struck true and wounded one animal.</em></p><p><em></em></p><p><em>However, it seems every dog has its bite.</em></p><p></p><p> The rest of the story is cut off at the site.
