Places to shoot

I own property where you can shoot out to 1000 yards. I am near Elk City so it's still a bit of a drive, but a few from this board have come shoot on my land.

Hey all,

I just moved here from New Hampshire. I’m NH you can shoot on public land responsibly. I usually avoid indoor or formal ranges because it’s often they control the rate of fire and don’t allow holster work, or movement.

Are there any public land areas to shoot on? I’ve seen the WMA’s but the closest one is well over an hour away. Am I able to find an open field with a berm and shoot for an hour to train CCW work? If that’s not allowed, what advice do you have for places I could go.

Welcome to Oklahoma. The only place I know close to Lawton that will allow you to do that is Fouled Bore in Ninnekah about 45 minutes from you.

On a different note, if you want to do all of that in a competition type setting, check out the Burial Mound Run n Gun in Pawnee. You’ll get all of that plus a 4-10 mile hike through the Oklahoma countryside. They also host a night shoot if you’re interested.
