Thanks to everyone for the well wishes etc. Dad died yesterday afternoon. His lungs were so far damaged that there was no way anyone could have survived in that state. The VA hospital did an excellent job and used every means available but the injury to his lungs was too accute. He would not have wanted to linger on a mobile vent or something. He was surrounded by those that love him. It is painful that it happened so fast and I regret missing the time to do many things we had planned but never gotten to do. He was only 65. He was a great man that helped people his entire life and made a big impression on many. He will be so sorely missed. Remember to tend to the truly important things in life as there is no guarantee what is around the bend.
