slightly off topic... but on close inspection of a set of Nill grips (on Maj's P7M8) i noticed that the checkering is in fact STAMPED on, and not truely cut into the wood. I have to admit i was dissapointed a little, but still they're absolutely beautiful on any gun i've seen them on.

Ive looked at Nil's and I think they are cnc checkered.

you guys all have great camo patterns!

maybe they changed process at some point? the checkering on those grips looked like the checkering on a cheap .22 - the grooves were not CUT into the wood. maybe punched or pressed somehow, but definitely not cut. they had poor definition and lacked depth and the grain flowed over the checkering instead of through it.
