First off I don't really know much about the post Vietnam era Leatherwood scopes. The few scopes I do know about are the few I have purchased (Vortex, and Bushnell) the rest that I have any sort of knowledge about are those that have been passed down in the family, old Bushnell, Burris, and Leupold. Does anyone have any experience with the Leatherwood brand? Same quality as Nikon, Vortex, Bushnell etc., or are they on the same level as BSA, NCstar, Niko etc, and not worth the shipping charges.

I had one a few years ago that I believe was a copy. It had the Leatherwood name and everything looked identical to what I had seen in photos and articles. I was really disappointed when I looked at the bottom of the box and a "Made in China" sticker was staring at me.

I tried it out and the optics and clarity was good. It didn't take long for one of the mounting knobs to break off.
