I have a pork butt in the smoker today
Brown sugar
Granulated garlic
Chili powder
Cumin
Tony's
Spike seasoning
Ground black pepper
Kosher salt

Put yellow mustard on meat, add rub
Smoker at 250 deg 2hr, drop temp to 210deg
After 6hrs, wrap in foil, put back in at 210 deg
After 8hrs total cooking time put in a bowl with 1 cup of apple cider and pull meat and soak in cider in a stainless steel mixing bowl in 200deg oven
Pour off cider and excess grease before serving

1-1/2 tsp Chili Powder
1-1/2 TBS Garlic Powder
1-1/2 TBS Onion Powder
1/2 tsp Cayenne Red Pepper
1 TBS Kosher Salt

I would like to do the same, just don’t have the space currently to keep the bulk sizes of all the ingredients on hand to test and mix them.

Will do! One thing I really like is the warm, hearty taste of roasted garlic in my seasonings. But you can’t find anything g of the nature in granulated form. I’ve been tempted to purchase a food dehydrator though.

One thing I’ve experimented a little with and want to more is smoking seasonings. Last time I smoked meat I also put in a pan of coarse salt to make smoked salt. It has a great flavor. Started with salt since it was easy but would be interested if you could do something like that with garlic and then use a spice grinder to break it down into a rub
