The media portrays them as a violent far right group.
Even wikipedia says "The Proud Boys is a far-right[4][5][6][7][8] and neo-fascist[9][10][11][12][13] organization that admits only men as members and promotes and engages in political violence." but the references look weak at best.

Here's their website: https://proudboysusa.com/
And: https://officialproudboys.com/

The Oregon governor has declared an emergency in Portland because they're coming to rally; https://www.foxnews.com/us/oregon-portland-proud-boys

I haven't seen any real evidence that they're violent, just standing up to the rioters like a lot of us say we'd like to do.

What do you think?

A lot of us here ask 'when is enough enough', and 'when will the rest of us start speaking up and fighting back'; I see this as the beginning of that.
I say good on 'em, until I see something that makes me change my mind.

I'm kinda with you on the first part, but I fall short when it comes to praising the Proud Boys. As much as I despise what groups like BLM and ANTIFA are doing, some of the counter protest groups are just as distasteful.

It's hard to verify much factual evidence to support the claims of them being a hate group, short of comments by members/former members etc, but something still feels off about them.

I just don't care to associate with, or be associated with, folks like this:

Yeah, that article doesn't look good, even if it's from huffpo, hopefully the basic facts of him being disbarred for threatening someone are accurate.
