In a bolt action rifle that will run a standard short action cartridge the Creedmoor offers significantly larger case capacity and muzzle velocity - and thus the ability to use longer heavier higher BC bullets vs the Grendel. The Grendel is only a good choice when restricted to STANAG (AR type) mag length.

Ok hadn't really studied up on them, just had the thought of the Grendal as another upper for my AR's

It is. The Creedmoor is NOT. It works on the AR10 (.308 Win) based platform.

I just picked up a Savage Predator Hunter in 6.5 Creedmoor. The accutrigger came set at 2 pounds. Seems to have no creep or overtravel. Putting a Vortex Viper scope on it and have ordered dies and brass. It'll be a deer/coyote/hog/paper punching gun, and I am unlikely to shoot it beyond around 500 yards. I'll probably leave the trigger alone because the chances of me shooting an unsupported rifle at anything are small.

Going to be looking for what loads have worked well for folks. Updating to Lyman's 50th edition. Don't know what I'll find there for this round...
