Quality Chicken Fried Steak

Mods can close this thread now. Lakeside Grill near the shores of Lake Ponca has these real meat, tenderized in the restaurant, and hand breaded Chicken Fried Steaks. Betcha can't eat the whole thing.

I would sure like to try. Maybe just the sandwich and a small salad with insulin for dessert.

Where is Libby’s? I haven’t tried Lokal or the place in Ponca, but every other restaurant listed has let me down.

Chuck House on 10th & Meridian is my first choice. Ann's is an OKC legend, and very noteworthy.

I haven't tried Kendall’s. Never heard of them before, but enough people on here mentioning it that I'll give it a try.

The Brothers Houligan is really good, their gravy is excellent. And as another poster had said nelsons in tulsa is good too, a bit small though.

Pickles in Edmond has a decent CFS for 7.99 on the lunch menu

I'm still looking for the best CFS within a reasonable drive from home.

Seems like none of them are like I remember getting from the small cafes that used to be around.

I haven't tried Ann's or Kendall's. Cheever's jalapeno gravy on a CFS has never sounded good to me.

I was getting one now and then at the restaraunt in the Blackhawk Casino until I quit going because I cant carry there. It was decent for the price and good sized but nothing to go out of your way for.

The one at Cheever’s is hands down the best. It’s a more upscale venue compared to a Del Rancho by the same margin, so expect the price to reflect it.
The jalapeño is not overwhelming.
