No I didn't look at the pistol grip stocks. I'm just not a fan of them. I went with the SLP mostly because they were and kind of still are the only option out there that will take the abuse of 3gun except for the Benelli. Remington's VersaMax is getting some good reviews nowadays but I bought this before it was available. When I bought it there was really only these and the Benelli to consider and at the time a Benelli was just unobtainium. I do like the way the Benelli handles and points better than the SLP, quite a bit actually, but there are a lot of other little things about the SLP I like better, the SLP doesn't have that goofy cartridge drop lever, it seems to run cheap WalMart bulk when some Benellis don't and it's definitely easier on the shoulder. I did acquire a M2 tactical with comfortech stock in a trade and thought about keeping it and selling my SLP. Had the M2 had a vent rib barrel I probably would have. For the record I don't think there's a finer SG on the market today than Benelli but the SLP/Win SXx series are a close second. I'm just biding my time and watching to see if the Benelli Vinci hangs as good as the M1/M2s. If I replace the SLP it will likely be a Vinci. Edit: Don't get the competition model SLP unless you just like to waste money. The extra goodies you get are not worth the extra cash, they are basically just a blue anodized version of this one. Put a Nordic +1 extension on it, trim the forearm for easier loading, bevel the loading port and get CRums to weld your lifter. Done...
