Haven't you and your wife been out of state for weeks/months at a time on your "retirement" job doing the roads?
___
That is mostly a summer job. Last year saw us out for the longest period because we were the only ones doing the state of Alabama. The company has a new, upgraded system for imaging the surface of the roadway, and they wanted us to do that state because of the wife's abilities with computers. Between doing the 12,380 miles of roads, doing redoes of roads that had problems in Alabama, then doing some redoes in Georgia, and then doing another 1800 miles in Alabama, we were out last year for just over 6 months. Normally, we are out for only 3 or 4 months total.
Bids have been submitted to Wyoming and if the company gets that contract, the wife and I have kind of been picked to do that state. We probably won't know until sometime in April as to whether we get it or not.
