Quick SBS question...

Have a SBR already and a SBS would be a good mate for it, now I did a trust on a rifle registered lower to have it turned into a SBR, but what is the process to buy a NFA item out right, ie comes from the factory as a SBS or converted by a licensed dealer? Only difference is I don't have to engrave the receiver right, everything else is the same?

Find one you want. Have it sent to a dealer to handle the form four. Nfa transfers are from 50 to 100 bucks usually

I had the SBS sickness for awhile. Still do. But to me it's more of a PITA than it's worth.

From what I've seen you can get a SBS for well under a grand, the surefire forend is $200+ so that's a big dent if you leave it off the build.

Yeah, but it's just not quite as sexy without it...IMHO.

When I said "a grand" I was referring to the shotty, ALL the bells and whistles as well as the stamp.

I called my buddy Bill over at B&M Firearms in Shawnee and he said he could get me into exactly what I wanted for about a grand.

It might have just been nine-something.

I hear you, the bells and whistles will drive that price up fast. I'm looking into a 14" 590A1, if I can't get it in teh price range I wanna be. I'll go with a SBS build on an exsisting receiver so I can spread the cost out.
