I met him at wannanmachers years ago and bought his book, he signed it for me. Seemed pretty quiet and unassuming. Ruby Ridge and Waco. It’s interesting that a lot of people still trust the government.
I remember a made for TV movie (may be the say one you saw) where Joe Don Baker played Randy Weaver's defense lawyer, Gerry Spence. They came about twice a year to those shows. Think Bo Gritz was the one that talked him out of the cabin during the standoff and that ended it. There was a movie that had Randy Quaid playing Randy Weaver a few years after it happened.
I met him and his daughter at the gunshow too. Really nice guy. I bet you will never learn about him in any history book. Too bad, he was a self-proclaimed Seperatist with Libertarian views, but above all he was American. He and his daughter used to come to the gunshows in Okc years ago, he was setup selling his book. Bo Gritz was usually setup next to him selling his stuff. Seemed like a nice guy.
Might be a few Indians, could argue that point, Js.I don't know him well enough to know if he was a real patriot or not, but he surely got the sh*ttiest end of a sh*tty stick that should never have been swung by the US Gov't.
RIP, Mr. Weaver.
Never said it was the worst stick they ever swung, just that he got the worst end of that particular stick.Might be a few Indians, could argue that point, Js.
