Well of course it was Gators. What else in the name of tarnation could have done it?
Valid point Sir, maybe it was a simple case of the highly acclaimed but seldom executed Blackgatorfoot 3 prong attack!!!
Were the chickens just killed and left, or were they all missing?
All missing. I heard coyotes right behind the house a few nights before so I figure that's what it was.
Nope - stick with the blackgatorfoot attack!!!! 
Wondered about that. A bobcat or fox will kill everything it can typically, and carry off one. (lost 16 turkey poults one night, with one came up missing, the others dead.) Bobcat tracks in the dirt around the pen. They do the same with a covey of quail in the night. Sneek up on them, and as they flush, bring down all they can. Eat what they want and leave the rest to rot.
Possums will kill one typically, and eat it right there.
Been my experience anyway. Others may vary.
