Red Dot of your choice. I had one of the browning repops they made in the mid 80's, at 50 yards i could see the hole it punched into the target. don't try to make it into something it isn't, i.e. a long range shooter,,,but if you do try better get a set of rings with the built in 20mil elevation.
This would probably be my choice but with a reflex sight. I’ve got a 30-30 that I put a small rail and a vortex reflex on. It works perfect for any shot inside of a 100

1-4 vxII if you can find one don't know if they came in silver I have 2 in black love them

It's got about 4 inches of eye relief. I'd like a bit more, but I'll never shoot elephant stompers through this gun anyway.

Mine wears a 2x20 simmons pistol scope in a scout mount, only about 80$ scope, but i have a few, the others on 308’s.. and theyve held up well

I picked one of these scopes up but I can’t get it low enough to seem to work. Other than a cheek pad, I don’t know what else to try.
