Semi-related, but out of curiosity, is there a way to test a driver to determine if they are impaired on MJ? I believe at first at least there wasn't. Has that changed? Are there legal limits of 'highness'?
As far as I know, nothing like a breathalyzer used for alcohol. I did find this statement in an article when Googlin'. So, in CO, it seems they'd have to arrest you under suspicion of impairment then get a blood sample for testing.
some states have laws that allow THC levels to be presented as evidence of impairment. Some of these laws were passed in response to the legalization of marijuana for recreational use. In Colorado, for example, it is a permissible inference that the driver was impaired by marijuana if he or she had more than 5 nanograms of delta-9-THC per milliliter of blood.
have had a few employees that were using cbd with high thc. there are definitely safety issues with being stoned or drunk. they also had problems with understanding and carrying out their job descriptions.
The majority of CBD is made from hemp and not marijuana with THC. It can only contain a very small amount of THC or the feds wouldn't allow it.

I'm not arguing the use of marijuana, just a question on the proposed state question. With the relative ease of getting a medical card, why do we need recreational? There seem to be dispensaries on every corner. Would there be room for new locations, or would many of the current ones change? Why should I be for, or against, this proposal? What will be the upside for the state?
TAXATION of the product.. And we already have the eleventy billion pot stores to sell it from...

If it makes it on the ballot, just like with medical I'll vote for it to be legalized. And just like medical, I have no need for it either way. It's about choice and getting the government out of business that it shouldn't be in (although, not completely since, of course, it will be taxed).

I know many highly respected professionals in various different fields that partake in a little weed on occasion. None of them have moved on to harder drugs. I'm not saying that it never happens, but in my experience, it's few and far between.

So it will be like the casinos….. no noticeable improvement to state resources?
Pretty much, or the lottery, or any of a number of tax hikes. MAPS might be the only thing I have seen actually show some results akin to what was promised.
I know more than a few staunchly conservative people with MMJ cards as well. Like most other things in life, the minute you think everyone can be lumped together by a trait, there is a group of exceptions.

I get why people are against and I get why people are for it. I know what my stance is and I have no interest in trying to convince anyone else to agree with me on this one.

No, marijuana will be available for anyone to profit from.

Our racist system here in Oklahoma only allows Indian tribes to run casinos.

It'd sure be fun to watch if they opened that up for everyone, equally.

I've smoked it once in my life. I tried a gummy once in my life. I hated the smoking experience. I'd NEVER do that again. The gummy gave me a very relaxed feeling.

Honestly, if I didn't mind risking my ability to buy and own guns, I'd get a medical card to help with my back issues (I think we talked about this before). It might work, it might not. I don't know. But I'd like to have the ability to work with a doctor to at least explore it.

Of course, my doctor is a VA doctor, so that ain't gonna happen.

He_ _ to the no!! That crap is so thick on every corner in every po-dunk town it makes me sick to see it.

If ya can’t tell I’m not for it, EXCEPT, when a LEGITIMATE PERSON NEEDS IT.

I fully appreciate your position. The rub comes with that "when a legitimate person needs it." So, how do we know without trying it? And, how do we legally try it without obtaining a medical marijuana card? As @OK Corgi Rancher said, I wonder it it would not help with my back and other issues. I would rather give MMJ a try sometime instead of taking the pharmaceuticals I'm prescribed for some of these conditions. I guess I may never know. I know I could easily get a medical card, but I'm not going to risk the possible legal ramifications right now.
