I recently had an eye exam, and had my astigmatism at least partially corrected. Now that I can look through a red dot and actually see a dot, I picked up a Sig Romeo5 and a Holosun HM3X magnifier. I'm going out today to sight in the dot, but I have a question about the magnifier and so far Google hasn't produced much of an answer/explanation.
Why does the magnifier have windage/elevation adjustments, and how does one properly take advantage of them? Seems to me that as long as the dot/magnifier combo is concentric everything else should be properly aligned, but the ability to make adjustments implies that this isn't necessarily so.
Any explanation and advice would be appreciated. I'll post up my thoughts on the optic and magnifier after I put some rounds downrange.
