I dont have enough of these things to have a preference.

I really like the Burris Mtac on my 16" Blackout AR
I'm indifferent about the RT-6 on the blackout bolt action but I just got it last week and have zero time behind it.
I'm satisfied with the Holosun 515 on my MPX

I'd say if weight and speed are your main concerns, go red dot. If you're urban/short distances that'd be all you need. For a rural HD rifle, I'd lean more towards the LPVO...that extra edge for distance precision and target ID is nice to have.

I've put LPVO's on all my fighting rifles (and most of my hunting rifles) except for the AR pistol that sits in my passenger seat at work, the two rifles I run with night vision, and the AK.

FYI, Midway should still be running the special where you buy that Burris 1-6 and get a PEPR mount for free. I just put one on an (otherwise lightweight) 14.5" pin/weld AR build.

Prersonally, I would do a LVPO. On my .300 BLK I had the Nikon .300 BLK specific scope calibrated for the cartridge. I don't think they are made anymore.
