I read in a post on Smith & Wesson forum that a triangle stamp with a letter inside means that it has gone through refurbishment at the factory. Can anyone confirm or deny this. Does anyone have a triangle stamping on thier gun?
It appears that the "S" and the "F34" have both been restamped with a slightly different font.

So after some research and some help on the S&W forum, this is not a factory refurbish. But apparently it's not supposed to have a 4" barrel and a round butt either. Waiting to see if it was special ordered or if someone did a barrel swap.

Probably a Lew Horton special. Back in the 80's & 90's they would offer up special guns every couple months. Especially K , L & N Frames with round butts.
