I just bought some .223 Monarch ammo. It has a brass case, but somebody told me that its not reloadable as its berdan primed?
I haven't shot any of it yet, but thought I'd check with anybody on the forum that has been down this road.

Not familiar with Monarch but Berdan is reloadable if you are set up for it and have berdan primers. It's a PITA but it can be done. Personnally I wouldn't mess with it.
I've even seen guys use water pressure to decap the berdan primers.

Just check after you shoot it. It'll have 2 flash holes instead of 1 if its berdan. I sweep plenty of brass cased 762x39 that is berdan.

Thanks for the info. I'll take some of it to the range this weekend and see what I've got. It was pretty reasonable at the Academy in Edmond, and they had plenty, but that was a couple of weeks ago.
