Remage barrel swap question

May be a stupid question but I cannot find anything.
Do you still need to use a recoil lug when doing a Remage style barrel swap on 700 actions?

The recoil lug is usually on the front end of the receiver, I'd say yes. Otherwise your action screws and the tang take all the recoil.

Been looking at these, kinda cool. I'll have to check some out.

I would have a smith pin the recoil lug to the action so fitment into the stock always stays the same. Especially if it has been properly bedded.
