Back in the day my cousin's cousin had one just like it . I liked his 69.5' 440 Six Pack Roadrunner better.

Young'un. You obviously didn't grow up in that era so you don't understand the great chase scene that car was involved in by one of the greatest male actors of his time. Another great chase scene was in The French Connection. Absolutely hair raising at the time and no CG.

Most people these days have no grasp of this but it's understandable with all the special effects these days. He did his own stunts too.

This is the Mustang I liked best and would have bought back then if they would have produced it - and I had the money!

    Wasn't it called Ellanore?

I think I remember some controversy too about some scenes the Mustang was an automatic?

One of the best chase scenes.

    Black Charger was nice too.

The Bullitt Mustang didn't have a name in the movie. Eleanor was the '73 Mustang in the original Gone in 60 Seconds with H.B. Halicki or the '67 (or was it a '68?) Shelby-ish Mustang in the remake with Nicholas Cage.

Man, that kind of thing almost makes me sick. It frustrates me, watching all these auctions .... when I see some of the same types of cars I used to own back in the day. None of mine were near this caliber, or value .... wish I woulda known back then what I know now.

    (don’t we all)

I owned my share of Mustangs back in the early ’70‘s, however my all-time favorite ride was my ’68 Roadrunner. The ’68 Cobra-Jet wasn’t bad either though.

+1 on the dislike of these new movies with Computer Graphics .... which are just basically modern day ‘cartoons’. They insult a person’s intelligence.
