[QUOTE="C_Hallbert, post: 3238600, member: 42957"] You put one in the -X- Ring with the remark on ‘Education’. In my opinion, it’s the crux of our nation’s dilemma. A lasting testament to Thomas Jefferson’s legacy, The Public Education System, was crippled by the influence of Progressivism. This philosophy reduced academics from the pursuit of excellence to the pursuit of the mundane. “Our schools have been scientifically designed to prevent over education from happening. The average American (should be) content with their humble role in life, because they're not tempted to think about any other role.” *U.S. Commissioner of Education, William T. Harris, 1889 , and “Independent self-reliant people would be a counterproductive anachronism in the collective society of the future where people will be defined by their associations.” **1896 John Dewey, educational philosopher, proponent of modern public schools. “The children who know how to think for themselves spoil the harmony of the collective society that is coming, where everyone would be interdependent.” ***John Dewey (1899) The following paragraphs are my opinion based on my own independent research: John Dewey- (Misguided Philosophical Pragmatist), Psychologist and Educator whose most beneficial contribution to humanity was to die.....but not before his influence successfully undermined the educational effectiveness of teachers and obscured the traditional purpose of education. The political implications of his philosophical theories which viewed man as a ‘social creature by nature and that the values and rules by which society lives should serve the collective needs and wants rather than those of individuals.’ He postulated that the educational system was the most appropriate and effective environment for experimentation with social reform and for implementing social change. In effect, Dewey did his best to undermine learning as the basis and intent of education and instead redirected its purpose towards molding and conditioning youth to take their place in a future collective society. (cgh) These two malignant Charlatans are revered by our leading academic authorities, ideologues and strategists who proudly continue their work in the pursuit of reducing our nation’s academic performance to render it as a more pliable population for control by a future Socialist Government.
