Jesus has love and compassion, but His patience is not endless. Everyone wants to paint Him in their own understanding, but they would be wise to read His words and take Him as He is. There are churches and Christians who are all about grace and nothing else matters to the point of welcoming unrepentent sin and worshipper's of false gods into their midst, and there are churches and Christians who are all about sin and nothing else matters and they have no love and compassion. Neither approach is on the mark, and the truth is in the middle. Jesus offers grace and forgiveness to those who accept Him. Those who are not embarrassed of Him. He also expect obedience and for His followers to leave their sinful life behind. He is always painted as this soft meek guy, but we should remember He fashioned the whip and drove out the money changers. He rebukes His churches in Revelation with absolute strength and authority. Even His patience was often tested dealing with how difficult people are, you could see it all the time. "How long shall I put up with you?". One thing is for certain, there is a lot of non-truth in the world and there are also a lot of false teachers. I understand your point of view JD8 of who to believe because they all say different things. My advise is read and decide for yourself. I measure every teacher against the Word. If they say what the Word is saying, they might be worth listening to, if they say something that is the opposite of what the Word is saying, not so much.
