I got my SDA permit in 1996 when the law came into effect. It expired in 2000 and I didnt renew it for various reasons. I had just bought a new house on some land and with my single income, money was a little tight. There was much to purchase for the house as far as window treatments, fencing, etc so I couldnt justify the cost of renewal at that time especially considering my firearm was only ever carried in my truck because I was simply paranoid about printing. About a year later when I decided to renew, I was told I had to take the class again since it had been more than 30 days expired. Well this just pissed me off and I decided to exercise my constitutional carry rights. lol Again, I only carried in my truck. Now with open carry and new legislation being presented this session, I am amped up to start carrying again. Well, the class issue...I went on the OSBI website and it looks to me like there is a 3 year graceperiod to renew and after that time frame, all you have to do is send in a copy of the original class certificate so they can see what type of pistol you qualified for. It says they keep a record of all certificates sent in though. So is it this easy or am I missing something? http://www.ok.gov/osbi/Handgun_Licensing/
