I haven't made this public on this forum but I am quickly approaching retirement (10/29/2021). With this coming up soon, I have the opportunity to pin a badge back on as a Reserve for the County or PD. What I am looking for are suggestions when it comes to a Duty sidearm. When I left my Reserve Unit in 2010 (after 20 years) I was carrying a 5 inch Govt model 45acp. Please give me some helpful insight.

Congratulations on your upcoming retirement! It is THE BEST way to make a living. Just getcha good 'ol Glock 17 and carry lots of boolets.

Not in Oklahoma!
Go try a CZ75bd

Or a CZ p01

I am not bashing the 1911, or your ability with it. And I think a 1911 style pistol feels good in my hand.

But......

I feel it is a hard pistol to shoot (accurately)!

Good Luck no matter what you choose!!!

They told me, "DON'T get a CZ. You'll just want more CZ's."

I'm up to three now. :rollingla I especially love the 75's.
