[QUOTE="1911, post: 1489741, member: 11420"] Thank you guys, and everyone who has emailed me, for your support. I have had a lot of possitive feedback, and it is very encouraging. I have never ran for office in anything and it was difficult to do so this time. My thoughts were this: USPSA and shooting in general means a lot to me, this sport is volunteer driven, so someone must be willing to give their time in support of it. Kelly has done an excellent job for many years, it is easy to throw sticks and stones at someone when we see problems, but that isn't the way to grow our sport. I value Kellys friendship and his support of me as I take this step. His experience and leadership will be invaluable as I seek and hopefully secure this position. I believe I have the ability to identify key areas and people to grow USPSA in Oklahoma. By having a proactive plan and getting more people involved we can increase the numbers and quality of shooters in our state. We have around 350 active (paid) members in oklahoma and yet I can only identify 125 or so of them. By re-energizing those who have brought us to where we are we can gain their experience and knowledge, this can only improve our quality of stages and matches we all love to shoot. I am excited that this opportunity is in front of me. Anyone who knows me knows that integrity is what I try to live by and I am humbled that others have recognised that. If elected I will do all I can to make everyone proud to be part of what is happening in Oklahoma. I promise that togather we will build up the shooting sports, in paticular USPSA and Steel Challenge, and provide an opportunity for new shooters to get involved. I have a t-shirt that some of the OKC shooters designed back in 03 or 04, it says "team Oklahoma" we wore those shirts to area 4 that year. I felt as though I was a part of something and it was fun to be associated with those guys. I want others to experience that, if it means that I will loose some sleep or maybe even develop a grey hair or two:) than that is ok with me. I just want others to be included in our sport, and for our sport to continue to thrive even when the economy makes it so hard. So again, thank you..... for the kind words..... for your support..... but mostly for your help and all that you guys do to make this sport happen. SEE YOU ON THE RANGE!!!!!
