I bought one awhile back and the one I got is pretty much useless! I don't think if I GAVE it away I'd sleep at night, spring rod will not stay in place. Cheapest way out and much better idea is just get with Kidd and give them a shout and ask if they have a blem action..... save ya bout $50. You'll have one of the better actions cheaper than you can buy a 10/22 and strip the thing down and most folks are going to want a pretty penny for one if they would turn it loose.
