My bad experience was with a DW Pointman 7, an early one. The rear sight was just pinned in place instead of being dovetail. The recoil sheared the roll pin - actually 2 of them - and as it left the slide it also took the threads for the elevation adjustment screw.
Two lessons learned:
1) always get a dovetailed rear sight on a 10mm slide
2) never buy another DW

Had a 10mm 1911 about 20 years ago? Stainless, made in Wyoming I think. Logo on the side had a guy riding a bucking bronc.
Shot amazingly well, but I couldn't afford the ammo back in those days and hated it throwing the brass 10' or so in the grass.
Traded it at Wannamakers for a Browning Citori and some change.
I'd like another for hunting although my .45 has taken two deer without any issues.

8+1 of 10mm in some Ruger goodness...Ahhh, I can hear it calling now: "Here Piggie Piggy Piggie; come on Piggie, step into the clearing and eat the nice pile of turnips I left there for you. Here Piggie Piggie Piggie"
