So yeah, anyone here have any personal experience with the cartridge? Just pickup up a ruger blackhawk/vaquero cylinder for cheap, knowing it was a bottleneck cartridge I just assumed it was a 38/40 or something similar until I noticed the reamer marks. cylinder is in the 357/44 cartridge, I have had a faint interest in it for a while but knowing how hard it was to find the dies I have never pursued it. Finding this has me interested again.
So yeah. Share your experiences with it? And ya know... if you have some dies you want to part ways with. 😬

I have a buddy that had a Blackhawk. 357/.44.

Nice novelty round, but bottlenecks aren't great revolver rounds. He ruined a bunch of .44 brass trying to form brass to load.

He did get some impressive 160 gr loads, though.

He sold it to a fellow that had never heard of Bain and Davis and paid a premium to get it.

Have fun and let us know what you find.
