So I lucked out a few days ago.
As I was browsing through the internet to find a decent mark 2 or 3 I stumbled upon an ad from a pawnshop that stated they had a nearly new mark 2 standard. Well of course me being the weak self control fool I am decided to go look at it. Now I’ve had some bad experiences at this certain pawnshop that states “nearly new” as most of the time I get there and the firearms are far from decent shape. So I arrive at the shop and to my surprise I don’t just find a normal mark 2. It’s a 50th anniversary mark 2. What shocked me even more was the fact that whomever owned the gun appeared to have not shot the thing at all. The factory oil was glued to the gun, the magazines all still had stickers covering them and the chamber flag was nearly fossilized onto the bolt. I started looking it up and down and of course brought her home with me and gave her a thorough once over. Now my dilemma is, I initially was looking for a more beat up mark 2 or 3 with the intentions of taking it to a shop and getting the barrel chopped and threaded to a 2.5-3inch size and hosting a suppressor on it. But I keep looking at this beauty and thinking, my god should I tear this beauty up? Or wait until I can find another one that’s actually beat up? I’ve been wanting to build my dream movie gun build from one of my iconic child hood action flicks (assassins). Attached pics below of what I’m looking for in a finished build. So the question is, would you?
** side note, the 22/45 in picture is already in the process of waiting for its paclite upper to get out of atf jail.
