I'm wanting to have this handy for home defense but need some suggestions on how/where to mount or place it.
I've got a brace, light and red dot on it so it's around 2' in length. Somewhat out of sight works but not necessary, it'll be in the bedroom.
Any ideas?

If no kids in the household and it will lay flat on one side or the other then you might see about mounting a gun magnet on wall next to your bed. Or if you have an excess of money to throw out there, they make headboards that conceal long guns until needed then they drop down for easy access.

Get a fireman’s pole and cut a hole
In your master closet Leading into the cellar. Have your Armory (including your Ruger pcc) mounted on the cellar wall With biometric locks. Have a secret passage way to lead up to a hidden door behind that bookcase in your entryway. Sneak up behind the perp as he sneaks towards your bedroom. Shoot him in the brain stem.
Also keep a big vat of nitric acid and several bags of lime in the cellar also, in case you just killed your 17 year old, sneaking in after curfew

Buy @RickN ‘s pole. Of course, you’ll have to degrease it
