S&W 442 or 642-2? Which do you prefer and why?

Get both! Then, grab an older model 36 or Chief Special.

That model 36 and a Chief Special along with the Colt counterparts are on the list of future additions.

I have the 642-2 but didn't like the bead blast finish on the cylinder and barrel so i spent about a hour with a rag and mothers mag wheel polish and this was the end result

Turned out nice. I like that better than the factory finish.

The picture looks sort of two-tone-ish though... is that the case? Kind of like the cylinder and barrel are nickel plated and the frame is stainless steel?

I carry a 442 performance center every single day. The trigger is way nicer than a regular 442. My girlfriend bought my regular 442 no lock for her edc. It has pink grips and she named it pinky.
