I have an older S&W 617, .22lr -- 6 shot, no lock. It came with a set of Hogue rubber target grips (they have the S&W logo). I bought the firearm used, so I'm not sure exactly what they came with when it was new. I bought a set of Rubber S&W logo grips for a 617 off Ebay, they are suppose to be the grip the new 617 ship with, the sides and the bottom seem OK, but there is about a 1/4" gap at the top of the grip. The gap is where the top, rear of the grip meets the frame just below the hammer channel and above the backstrap. Hey Ronny does your 617 have that gap at the top of your grip?
