Anyone in the Northwest OKC area got a sand blaster.....

I got a new gas griddle about 2 months ago, seasoned it, used it once, then over heated being dumb which burnt of the seasoning and then got a light surface rust. Looking to blast it off so I can re-season.

If you have an air compressor you can pick up one of these and some blasting media and do it yourself. I wouldn't use this on a big project, but I've used them on wheels that were made in 1960 and it worked out great.

The one I own:

Edit: Updated with the one I own, which works good. Instead of the first one i found with bad reviews. The original post had this low quality model:

My buddy Jesse at 4J blasting does great work. I’ve worked with him, and he’s blasted a few things for me too. He did some work for a guy on here recently too. I don’t remember who though. Great guy, quality work, hes mobile too. He’s also an Army Vet if that helps with the decision.

Just sand it off by hand with oil and sand paper or use oil and a scotch brite pad.
That tiny bit of rust will go away and not harm you.
Cast iron skillets get rust often when people wash them too well or the wrong way.
Just oil and wipe down and heat and oil and wipe down and heat and oil again.

No need to sand blast the thing.
Light surface rust and only 2 months old can't be that bad.
Read this from Blackstone.
