So it took a bit to gather up all the parts but im down to gettin a barrel now. I thank im goin to go with a #7 target contour hart barrel.

My question is what twist do yall recommend for 180-210 grain bullet from a 300 win mag?

Prolly be 24 or 25 inch barrel.

I would consider 25" to be the minumum barrel length for the 300 Winchester Magnum, and the longer the better!

A 1-10" twist rate will stabilize most bullets 180 to 210 grains in weight...

Since you will be headspacing the gun yourself, whatever brass you are using, cut off one of the cases about 1/4" in front of the belt, knock off any burrs around the cut off point, and you have an instant headspace gauge that will be far more accurate than any of those steel gauges that you can buy. You can also use shims made from feeler gauges, and set the headspace to your exact specifications!

I have use the above method for 35 years and we'll over a thousand custom built rifles later, it has never let me down a single time...
