Savage 110 FCP HS .338 Lapua

I picked this up a few weeks ago, but haven't shot it to much. I had a Vortex Diamondback HP 3-12x42 on it at first, but recently changed it for a Vortex Viper HST 6-24x50. I shot a few rounds last weekend to get it sighted in, but it was really windy that day. I went back out yesterday to check it again and then I took a couple shots at the steel coyote at 300 yards and compared the impact to the .308.

The .338 Lapua magnum is a beast of a round.
Buddy has one. At the range with the MZ brake he can clear the line pretty quickly because nobody wants to be around the muzzle blast.

I like to think of .338 like an NHRA top fuel funny car. If you dont have a 1,000 yard range to shoot it on you aren't going to get its full potential.

My buddy has a GAP built 338 Lapua on a Badger action with a Fat Bastard muzzle break. His rifle's recoil pulse (243 like) looks to be a lot less than yours...you may want to check it out.
