Senate declares Oklahoma a Second Amendment Sanctuary state (msn.com)
They are also working on some language clean up in a few other gun carry bills that would be great to have the clarification on and in return provide more freedom to law abiding citizens!
I'm proud to be an Okie....from Muskogee.
I just read through each of the bills in OK2A's text update from last night.
Definitely great news and I am completely onboard with the message it sends, though I am curious how much of it would stand up to scrutiny if it is in direct conflict of Federal legislation. I would assume it would turn into lawsuits between the State and Federal governments, right? I would imagine the Supremacy Clause would be invoked here if it truly came to a stand off.

You can read the bill here. Still operating under the guise that 1934, 1968 Acts are constitutional.
It's a nice bill, but let's roll that crap back, shall we?
You are correct. That was settled in 1865.
I like good news
Same thing would apply to the abortion ban bill . . . why waste time and money only to be defeated?
I think a lot of it is posturing and used as a way to send a message to both other states and the Federal government.
On the other hand, wouldn't the municipalities in California that implemented restrictions on capturing and deporting illegal aliens be a similar situation? It is still a self-proclaimed sanctuary area from Federal law, it just hasn't been challenged yet that I am aware of. I think San Francisco was the prominent one I am thinking of.
