Because it is worth it for me to have a separate can that is as short as possible. The noise tradeoff is worth it too. I think a N-6 will be my general use centerfire can though.

I measured my AR with the suppressor attached. My previous estimate was off a little. Without the suppressor it measures at 9 3/4" with suppressor it is 14 13/16".
