Should I upgrade the Lott?

Well, I might 'have access to' three .375's ... two H&H's ... a Model 70 and a Ruger #1, as well as a .375 Weatherby built on a Champlin action along with a .458 Win Mag on a '98 Mauser. I might also find a .45-70 double rifle, if that fills the bill!

I think as long as your primary entry ticket is a true big bore in an African type cartridge, bringing some puny stuff like a .45-70 or .450BM or .450 Marlin etc would be acceptable.

I could also bring an 1886 in .45-70, a 1895 in .45-70 and a No. 1 in .450BM...but entry would be paid with the No. 1 in Lott and Win 70 in 375 H&H.

I’ve still got a “custom” Encore in 9.3x74r and Blaser R93 in 9.3x62.

Well define Big Bores--

I have 577 2-3/4 NE and 577/500 No. BP Express, Westley Richards Musket No2 and 577/450 Martini , in classic guns.
416 Barnes Express is my only contemporary rifle.

I also have a Rolling Block 45/70 and Marlin Ballard No. 5 in 40/90 Ballard, but I only consider them medium bore. Actually the Musket No. 2 and 577/450 should probably be in this group also.

I'd be interested...

You guys got my brain cells reactivated with this idea. I was thinking about the the last time I shot my 416 Barnes. Been years-more than 20 maybe closer to 25-26 years. I think I will go dig it out and revisit it.

Sound like a good idea for a new topic.
