Gentlemen, At last, here they are... the first of the "correctly serial numbered" Silencerco SS Sparrows!! Silencerco had to switch production for the aluminum cans to SS about a month ago, so they decided to honor some dealers' remaining "aluminum" Sparrow orders with new SS Sparrows (any pics of new Sparrows that you've seen up to now were cans that have aluminum Sparrow serial number - SP-XXXX). The cans I just received are the fist of the "SS" serial numbered cans. I'm proud to have serial number "1" as our new demo can (SS-0001)! ABOUT THE FINISH: Quite a few peeps got sideways over some pics on SilcencerTalk that made the phosphate finish of the can look kind of light grey. The picture of our demo can (below) is a VERY ACCURATE representation of the true "coloration" of the can. The pic was taken with a Canon 5D Mark II and run through Photoshop to ensure accurate contrast, color and hue. The phosphate finish is a very dark "gunmetal" grey and in most lighting conditions it looks nearly black. It looks the most grey in outdoor, natural light, but still is very, very dark grey. Personally I think it is frickin' BEAUTIFUL!!!! I can't put into words how impressive the can is in person. The machining is phenominal! And the very slight contrast between the tube and end-cap is a good thing - it helps show off the beautiful undulating/scalloped pattern at the front of the tube. THE CAN IS ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, DROP DEAD GORGEOUS (I'd have sex with it, if I could) - Congrats Silencerco!
