Silvertip rounds are antibacterial so as to not infect the item, person, animal being shot. [emoji6]
I wonder how many oz's are in a box? $18 oz hmmm
Somehow I would suspect that an animal or human shot with a 'silver-tipped' bullet would not be too concerned about whether it was anti-bacterial or not :coffee2: but then again I guess that would depend on ones priorities

I believe the "silver" is an aluminum alloy,,,
I know I read that somewhere back in the 60's.

It is much lighter than the lead,,,
So when it hits something it's lesser inertia allows it to slow quicker.

The heavier lead has higher inertia and tries to keep going,,,
Essentially smushing the silver-tip back into the lead causing expansion.

I have slept a night or two since I read that,,,
But I'm certain I have the memory correct in my head.

Thanks. Just couldn't get my head around the advantage of the silver that would justify the cost.
Poor boy didn't grow up shooting silver bullets. Ha!
