Slugs, buckshot or birdshot. Which do you choose?

1 oz slug, 1 1/8 oz 00 buck, or 1 1/8 oz is all about the same at 10' imo. Shoot paper at 10' with a slug and with bird shot and holes are nearly identical. Doesn't really matter which of those three imo, have to be able to hit your target with all three or the size and shape of the load doesn't matter one bit.
