I worked with a guy once that told a funny story one day. He'd just moved out into the country and, one day, saw a snake slithering into the house through the back door. His first instinct was a good one as he kicked the door shut and actually pinned the snake in the door crack. His second instinct was bad. He picked up a nearby shotgun and blasted the snake. The snake (harmless) was instantly killed. But, he also killed everything around the snake--a tile floor, sheetrock wall, door trim, some carpet and the door itself. He was just so worked up, he just had to shoot the thing. It cost him hundreds to get it all fixed.
