Snakes are out!

Did a ballerina toe dance this afternoon walking to the stand when I almost stepped on this guy.
Moved him to a thick area so the red tails wouldn't get a cheap lunch. Pretty lethargic.

Funny you should mention this. Yesterday I was coming down the drive and I see this funny looking stick laying in the road. I think to myself, hmmmm, that almost looks like a snake, surely not. I drive over it and the crunch sounds like an acorns being crushed. It was a bull snake approx. 18" long. I picked his mangled body up with a stick and flipped him into the brush for the coons to find.

When we were kids we would fill up a Mason jar with those lite guys. We always ended up turning 'em loose. But it was fun seeing how many we could catch. I also got in trouble in grade school for taking one to show and tell. Lol

That looks like a worm snake. Found a couple in the wood pile this year.
