I've got a strong attraction to the Bodyguards. They are probably my favorite of all Smith & Wesson revolvers.

I really want a S&W 38, but the only real advantage over the 49 is a little bit of weight. That little bit of weight though, might be what makes the 49 so comfortable to shoot even though it's a larger caliber snub.

What style? Summer Special "type"?

I have an expensive Galco WB118 and even though it's a good brand I consider the holster to be about bare minimum. It has a plastic clip that flexes a little too much for my liking.

It was before they were assigned model numbers.

Well...it's got a trigger guard like a K frame/Military & Police, but the cylinder lock notch is between the chambers, which tells me it's a five shot.
