Snub Nose Revolver Skills Development
One of the most commonly carried, but seldom trained with, firearms is the snub nose revolver. Specialized
training for the snub has seldom been available in the past. Contrary to popular belief, service revolver doctrine
does not necessarily translate 100% to the snub nose revolver.
This is a one-day skill building class particular to snub nose revolvers. It emphasizes marksmanship development,
gunhandling skills, and carry techniques for the snub. Attendees will receive a training certificate sufficient for
obtaining a Florida Non-Resident Concealed Weapon or Firearm License. The class is limited to 13 students.
The class is one day (eight hours). A one hour lunch break will be taken. Cost is $200 plus applicable range fees.
Learning objectives for the class
• Make hits with the snub, not just noise.
• Carry the revolver in a low profile way and practice deploying it.
• Employ the snub in re-enactment of actual life preservation situations.
• Reload the revolver efficiently and with confidence.
• Shoot a state level Concealed Carry qualification course.
• Learn appropriate practice techniques and drills to keep your skills up after the class is over.
Requirements
• Students should be able to safely manipulate a handgun. This is not an introductory firearms class.
• Serviceable revolver of any caliber and a strong side or pocket holster.
• 100 rounds of practice ammo; ammunition that is NOT +P is preferable. 10 rounds of the ammunition
you keep for self defense purposes.

Concealed Carry: Beyond the Basics
Concealed carry involves a variety of tasks beyond understanding the legal aspects of being armed in public and
shooting a qualification course. Students who take this course will feel much more prepared for the demands of
concealed carry when they finish. Getting a Weapons license/ firearms permit requires only a minimum of
qualification and education; we teach you how to be safe and effective while armed.
It is designed for those who have completed a state required concealed carry course or who have experience in
carrying a concealed weapon and have asked the question – “What’s next?” This course is for those who want to
know more than how to fire a weapon, but are not interested in SWAT or military tactics. The methodology of
this course consists of a series of non-traditional shooting tasks, inert weapon drills, and role plays.
The class is one day (eight hours). A one hour lunch break will be taken. Cost is $200 plus applicable range fees.
Shooting Tasks (derived from actual incidents)
• Scenario re-enactment
• One hand shooting
• Shooting while encumbered by people and objects
Non-shooting Tasks (Avoid, Escape, Confront)
• Situational Awareness and Surveillance Detection
• Interacting with others while armed
• Presenting the weapon without shooting
• Weapon storage away from home
• Dealing with Law Enforcement
Requirements
• Students should be able to draw from a concealed holster and hit a silhouette target at 5 yards in 3
seconds or less.
• Serviceable handgun of any caliber, holster or acceptable off body weapon carrier, at least 2 magazines
or speedloaders, and a carrier for spare ammunition.
• 200 rounds of ammo, including 20 rounds of carry ammo.
• Inert gun of carry weapon, barrel insert, or training barrel for your weapon.
