Something Different??

Been spending some time here getting to know some of you guys and have to say you’re a good group. One thing I haven’t seen discussed to much are older rifles ie single shot, combo guns and drillings. I have a taste for the unusual and thought I’d share a couple I’ve been playing with lately. Been through the mil-surp stage, the shotgun stage and now am playing with single shots. Here are a pair of Holland & Holland Rook rifles one in 32-20 and the other in 250 Rook. Tossed in a Thieme and Schlegelmilch Combo gun 16 gauge / 8X72r that shoots sub MOA groups. Not bad for a rifle built in 1891. So what do you guys have hiding in your safes? Anyone have a taste for the oldies?

Excellent! I have always wanted a quality big bore double rifle, but never could afford it. I'm fascinated with the old single shots, doubles and drillings. Champagne taste on a beer budget!

Thanks guys. The H&Hs were made in 1907 and 1905 and by design shoot a pretty diminutive round and the T&S shoots a 181 grain .323 cast bullet moving around 1,700fps. Thing is with these rifles, you don’t have all the sight adjustments so in order to get them shooting to the sights you have to play with loads. For reference here’s a picture of the rifle round next to a little Baby Browning.

Oldest I've got is a 1921 S&W police regulator, .38s&w caliber. Has been factory reblued.
